Spring Highlights from 3rd class.
We are well underway with our final term in 3rd class. The past few weeks have been very busy, with the children enjoying:
World Book Week:
A fun, literacy-filled week. We had some mystery readers who came in to share their favourite books. A big thank you to the parents who kindly took part as our secret readers. We had plenty of visits to the school library and some of the children got creative with costumes inspired by their favourite books.
Seachtain na Gaeilge:
The children really enjoyed taking part in games, singing, dancing, quizzes and sports, all while using a cúpla focal as Gaeilge.
Active Week:
We are always active in class, but this week gave the children extra opportunities to try hockey, dance and athletics with visiting groups.
Ramadan:
We explored different religious and cultural events, including Ramadan. One parent kindly sent in food to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, which the children really enjoyed tasting.
Earth Day:
We learned about the theme of Earth Day 2026 and discussed how small actions can make a difference in our local area. We also made the most of the good weather and did a spring clean in the hub. The children were both excited and surprised by what they found.
We are looking forward to making the most of our final weeks together in 3rd class.
