How do I improve my own English as a parent?

A useful website for parents to practise English literacy skills:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/0/ – This website has practical literacy skills for adults in the topics of Reading, Writing, Spelling, Word Grammar, Sentence Grammar and Speaking and Listening.  

How do I support my child to learn English?

Join the local library with your child – they can borrow up to 12 books at a time

There are dual language books available on www.brightbooks.co.uk – you can get books in your native language with the English translation on the same page.

Watching television in English will help improve his/her understanding of the language – https://rtejr.rte.ie. This is also available via an app
